Alternative Breast Cancer Therapies

By Matt McMillan

Jenny is a 42 year old mother of three. Being a housewife is quite easy especially when the kids are at school and the husband is at work. The rest of the day is spent cleaning the house and doing the laundry with an hour to spare at the local gym.

After taking a shower, Jenny felt some pain the breast. This could be just menopause symptom so there was no need to worry. The pain got worse the next few days and sensing this was something else, finally decided to visit the doctor.

The doctor was a family friend. The initial diagnosis was done by touching the breast followed by a scan using a mammogram.

There were a lot of cancer cells present so another test had to be done. The doctor had to be sure so a sample was extracted and sent to a pathologist for analysis. After testing, it was only then that a woman’s greatest fear has become a reality. Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer and this was already on the 3rd stage.

The third stage means the cancer has grown to more than 5 cm. in size and has spread to other parts of the body. This leaves removing the breast useless since the disease can no longer be contained.

Can there still be hope for Jenny who is already in the advanced stage of breast cancer? The truth is, the chances of recovery are very difficult.

Being informed of breast cancer is a shocking experience. There were some initial signs of disbelief then acceptance. The doctor explained everything to Jenny including the treatments available and the survival rates.

This was going to be Jenny’s greatest battle and this was just the beginning of a long struggle.

Chemotherapy was the best option now. The drugs produced some side effects like nausea and skin rashes but Jenny just thought this was short term since there is something bigger growing inside the needed to be killed.

Both Jenny and the doctor went ahead with removing the breast with a procedure called a mastectomy. Since modern medicine can have this reconstructed, this was a small price to pay. To make sure that all the cells had been wiped out, radiation therapy followed.

Jenny was happy to hear that the cancer was gone nearly a year after the diagnosis was done. Some people say this was a miracle since the battle which had taken so much was finally won. There was a huge party and everyone who prayed and supported were there to celebrate a second chance at life.

The doctor pointed out that the cancer can recur. This is the reason that Jenny still had to visit the clinic often for therapy and tests to make sure everything was wiped out.

Advanced breast cancer is sometimes hard to tell. A self examination at home is not enough which is why the patient should go to the doctor for a checkup once or twice a year.

There are a lot of people who die of breast cancer and a significant number are also diagnosed every year. The person can fight hard like Jenny did or simply give up to the disease.

Until a cure is found, the only thing people can do is work on the options and hope that a miracle will happen.

7 Tips Alternative Breast Cancer Treatment

By Kerry R. Atma

When my partner was diagnosed with HER2 breast cancer she was told she needed a masectomy, with radical chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She chose, not lightly, to look for an alternative breast cancer treatment. We didn’t leave many stones unturned in search for a breast cancer cure and I wish that someone had given me these tips because it would have saved my partner stress, anxiety and physical suffering and tens of thousands of dollars.

  1. Watch the rush to get it done now. Ask your surgeon how long they think you could delay any proposed surgery. My partner’s first impulse was to have an operation immediately. A 2 cm tumor can take 20 years to develop so her surgeon said that a delay of 6 weeks would not affect the outcome. My partner used that period to contact practitioners who advised her on other therapies and this helped change her mind about surgery.
  2. See if you can talk to people who have had cancer and used natural methods to heal themselves. This includes alternative medicine practitioners. The first woman my partner saw was a former nurse who cured herself from breast cancer and hearing first hand that it was possible, was as important to my partner as the treatment she offered.
  3. A good naturopath may cure you – but they might just kill you as well. My partner had a naturopath who had a history of success with cancer. For several months the tumor was kept in check and his system said that my partner was in excellent overall health. The tumor then exploded into growth suddenly – and HER2 cancer cells can growth very fast. At this stage he was out of his depth and could only recommend surgery.
  4. The same applies to acupuncture. My partner had a very good acupuncturist who worked with cancer patients. He constantly monitored the tumor and his treatment probably helped to keep it in check for a year – but ultimately acupuncture was ineffective.
  5. What works for some people may not work for you. Another alternative breast cancer treatment we tried was intravenous sodium bicarbonate – pioneered by Italian oncologist Dr Simoncini. We had to import our 7.5% solution of sodium bicarbonate from Israel (it is also available from Thailand) when USA supplier Baxters made it unavailable – except to hospitals – in Australia and New Zealand. While some people report success, it had no effect on my partner’s tumor – and when her doctor spoke to Dr Simoncini he said that she would have to have surgery following the treatment anyway.
  6. Keep searching – there are alternative treatments that are highly effective.Dr Robert Wickman, based in Ecuador, possibly saved my partner’s life. He certainly saved the life of one woman who was terminal with bowel and liver cancer, cured another of bowel cancer (and avoided colostomy) and a man of prostate cancer in the 5-6 weeks treatment time my partner was there (all these confirmed by independent oncologists). He uses a range of treatments including Rife technology, and alkalizing the blood and detoxing the body. My partner had no cancer according to his system but her blood tests still had cancer markers. He expected her tumor to soften and breakdown – but it didn’t.
  7. Never give up but keep exploring whether you have subconscious beliefs that are working against your healing. Working with kinesiology, we found that my partner had a subconscious belief that she didn’t deserve to be healed. We defused this belief and she affirmed that she deserved to be healed. It was only then that my partner – who was at a point of desperation and despair – came across Dr Chen in Auckland New Zealand. Her breast tumor was by now massive, occupying a large part of her breast, and was haemorrhaging every 4 to 7 days, taking her iron levels so perilously low that she had booked herself in for a blood transfusion. Instead she started Dr Chen’s treatment – although he thought the tumor was too big to be treated successfully. Within 10 days the bleeding stopped completely. The unique herb and oil combination that Dr Chen uses decimated the tumor, reducing it by 70% within ten weeks and the progress continues.
Chen and a colleague developed this treatment by using modern technology to process traditional Chinese anti cancer herbs and oils in a new way – and they tested it for 20 years in China.
My partner was only the third Westerner he had treated with his cancer herbal treatment – and we wish that we had discovered him two years ago we she first found out – it would have saved us a small fortune and with the tumor the size it was then – the treatment would have been completed in 8 to 12 weeks and our lives would have been not dominated by the specter of cancer.

Breast Cancer Treatments and Cures

By David Dodiros

Breast cancer is a problem caused by malignant cell growth originating from breast tissue, most likely from the milk ducts or the lobules of the breast. It generally occurs in women, although in rare cases, it can be found in men as well. Breast cancer is the second most lethal cancer in women, right after lung cancer. It is estimated that 1 out of 100 women are affected by this disease. It accounts for 22.9% of all cancer cases in women worldwide. It also accounts for 458,503 deaths worldwide in the year 2008.

This disease can be categorized into several types. The ductal carcinoma – which originates from the milk ducts – is the most common type; it accounts for 80% of all breast cancer cases. The second most common type is the lobular cancer (which develops in the lobules) which accounts for around 10-15% of all cases. The less common types include the inflammatory breast cancer, phyllodes tumor, medullary cancer, mucinous (colloid) carcinoma, mixed tumors, and a type of cancer which involves the symptoms similar to Paget’s disease.

If you suspect that you might have this disease, you should consult a doctor immediately for examination. For effective breast cancer treatments and cures, your doctor should run some tests to determine which type of cancer you have. The stage, rate of growth, size, and other characteristics of the abnormal cancerous cells are also the keys to determine the type of treatments suitable for you. Conventional treatment methods include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and targeted drugs.

- Surgery is usually performed to remove a part or the whole of the affected breast. Most common surgeries performed are the mastectomy and lumpectomy.

- Chemotherapy is a systematic use of medication to kill the cancer cells. This treatment can cause uncomfortable side effects such as the loss of appetite, hair loss, nausea, and vomiting.

- Hormone therapy works by blocking the estrogen intake by the cancerous cells. As a result, the cancer is expected to shrink.

- Radiation therapy (also known as radiotherapy or radiation oncology) involves the use of high energy X-ray beams aimed at destroying the cancer cells. Side effects that may occur from this therapy include fatigue and a rash-like patch.

- Targeted drug therapy utilizes medications that are specially formulated in combating the anomalies in the cancer cell.

Thanks to the advancement in medical technology, scientists have come up with advanced breast cancer treatments and cures that can significantly decrease the number of death caused by this debilitating disease. Besides the advanced medical technology, people’s awareness to perform breast self-examinations as well as regular screening is also increasing, and thus helps decreasing the death rates from breast cancer.
